Update on Spotlight March ‘22 Athlete of the Month- George Barr Jones


What better way to start the New Year off then with a follow up! We first featured George on Feats Friday in November of 2020 then as a Spotlight Athlete of the Month in 2022. How has George been doing since then? Like the popular IG sound bite, “George is killing the game!” A proud masters athlete, George is still continuing to come to class consistently and still giving his all with every workout but one thing that he has been dialing in on this past year was his nutrition.

Nutrition is the foundation of the CrossFit Pyramid. A sound diet is beneficial in improving all the categories above it. Based on his individual, specific needs and one that would help with his diabetes, George has been employing a well balanced but low carb diet that involves a wide range of healthy carb choices. Eating a broad spectrum of vitamins, minerals, and other beneficial nutrients, George is supporting his hard work in the gym and maximizing his amazing results in weight loss but most importantly, in all the areas of fitness.

The CrossFit Open is around the corner and George is ready to take on his 4th! Look good, feel good, perform well!

My fitness progress is on track now that I'm approaching my 4th year at Drop Box CrossFit.  Changing my diet was a necessary addition this past year to help me reach my weight goal.

I appreciate all of the help and encouragement I get from the coaches and other athletes. It really helps keep me motivated. Over the next year, I will continue to make gains and push myself at every movement.
